Since its creation, the Route des Chefferies regularly organizes training cycles and school and professional workcamps with the aim of reinforcing the capacities of the cultural sector actors in Cameroon. It works in collaboration with the institutes of fine arts and universities that train young people in the professions of heritage and culture.

In 2021, it created its training center called Centre de Formation aux métiers du Patrimoine et des Industries Culturelles et Créatives (CEFOPICC) to make this training more regular and has embarked on an ambitious program to strengthen the employability of young people in the CCI sector, with strong support from the French Institute of Cameroon and the French Embassy of Cameroon. This program is intended for young people from the ten regions of the country, who benefit from: professional training contracts, school sites and short thematic training in the heritage and ICC sector. It also opens them up to cultural professionals who so wish. Many international experts have already contributed to this training, including officials from the musée du quai Branly or recognized scenographers. It also organized a major training seminar dedicated to journalists, and entitled « Journalistes camerounais au service du patrimoine », in collaboration with No’o Cultures and the Réseau des Journalistes Culturels du Cameroun (RJ2C). The training center will soon be installed in the heart of the International City of Heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries (ICC), the construction of which will begin in 2022.

The proposed training courses

1. Graphic design

Description of the training : An initiation to Photoshop to approach graphic design, photo editing and digital processing of raster images. An introduction to Illustrator to integrate vector graphic creation techniques and illustration. An introduction to Indesign presenting the professional techniques of DTP, layout and adaptation to digital publishing

2. Game design

Description of the training : This program allows learners to create an immersive game world and provide a fun gaming experience for players. It will allow learners to deepen their understanding of video game concepts, understand the transition between the stages of designing a video game, learn the different ways to make the connection between Game design and Level design and finally put in practice the techniques learned.

1. Cultural mediator

This program aims to develop in the learner specialized skills in cultural mediation, through knowledge of cultural mediation tools; the creation and management of cultural projects and the adaptation of mediation according to the target and the context.

2. Conservation and restoration of heritage

This program aims to give participants the technical skills to conserve and restore heritage objects. This training will allow participants to identify the materials that constitute heritage objects, the characteristics of heritage materials, to carry out the preventive conservation of works within and outside a museum; identify the different factors of alteration of heritage materials and present the different chemicals used for the restoration of heritage

This program aims to provide learners with professional techniques in the field of cultural photography by introducing them to the methods and tools of photography. This course will enable them to set up and manage photography projects.

This program trains visual artists, multimedia designer-directors, art directors, scenographers, exhibition curators, and environmental designers. The training allows students to master and articulate all the stages of a project (study, design, realization, communication) while responding to a request according to the context, the technical and regulatory constraints, and the requirements of the client. This will allow them to create a space taking into account the ergonomics, the decor, the light, of the space and the atmosphere.
