The Route des Chefferies informs the national and international opinion that the 241 works left Cameroon to participate in France, in the exhibition “On the Route of the Chefferies of Cameroon. From visible to invisible”, from April 4 to July 17, 2022 at the Quai Branly Museum – Jacques Chirac in Paris, are back in Cameroon. On this occasion, an official ceremony of presentation of these works will be organized this Thursday, August 18, 2022 in Bafoussam, in the presence of administrative authorities, traditional leaders, heritage professionals and the media. The handing over of these works to their rightful owners will take place throughout this month. Prior to this handover, a professional work camp to assess the condition of these collections is organized in Bafoussam on Friday, August 19. Open to managers of heritage huts (community museums), those in charge of collections in the chiefdoms and students in museology, it will assess the condition of the works upon return, compared to their condition at departure, to build the capacity of participants and to raise awareness of the conservation and development of these works that have benefited from an international exhibition.
