The Goulfey cultural complex was created in 1998 by His Majesty Ali Mahamat, with the local Kotoko elite. In the complex resides the museum of art and traditions Sao Kotoko which present the objects and the heritage of the country. The focus is on the colonial history of the Kotoko country. The entire complex, and in particular the Goto Goylfey tower due to its outstanding universal value, has been inscribed on the UNESCO tentative list
