The Route des Chefferies, through its cultural and touristic actions, contributes to the different objectives of sustainable development, and in particular to SDGs 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16 and 17.
The actions of the Route des Chiefdoms have Cameroonians and local populations as a priority target. Local economic development is therefore a long-term objective for the DRC and it is in this sense that there is support, for example to the artisanal sector. Since 2020, a project to strengthen the arts and crafts sector has been carried out by the ORTOC and the APLC and aims to improve their yields, their living conditions, while preserving traditional know-how. In 2023, a foundry will be created in Foumban and made available to artisans in Noun. La Route des Chefferies also campaigns for decent jobs, and pays a fair price to its employees, from the members of the coordination to the trainees who learn alongside it.
La Route des Chefferies and its partners Cameroonians also support young cultural entrepreneurs in the realization of their projects, still within the framework of the project to strengthen the employability of young people, through awareness-raising sessions, training, mentoring and financing for the best projects. By giving them the opportunity to create their cultural enterprise, the whole chain is valued.
