The Route des Chefferies attaches great importance to scientific research on issues of history, heritage and identity. The creation of a museum requires constant contact with this environment in order to offer visitors relevant and verified scientific content. The Route des Chefferies thus works with major Cameroonian researchers and laboratories recognized according to the themes, the CERPETA (Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches pluridisciplinaires sur l’Esclavage et la Traite en Afrique), for example, for questions of slavery and the slave trade. In 2022, as part of its program to strengthen the employability of young people, it offered scholarships for students researchers to support and encourage them in their research.
This research work is also found in the Editions of the Route des Chefferies. In 2012 and then in 2021, she edited and re-edited a book that has become a reference: « Les Civilisations du Cameroun », which is based on the knowledge of recognized Cameroonian researchers who master the history, traditions, architecture and societies of the different cultural areas of Cameroon.
The Route des Chefferies also publishes exhibition catalogs (Released Memories), tourism products (cultural guide map, tourism catalog with ORTOC, postcards, etc) and educational booklets. In 2023, it also launched a magazine focusing on its activities and on culture in Cameroon as a whole.
